Reflecting on a Decade

My birthday is next week!

The big 3-0.

I’m honestly pretty excited! As great as my twenties were, I really feel like I had more of a solid handle on life now. I have an amazing husband, we’re planning on getting a house, maybe moving to a new city! Life is just clicking.

I can’t help but reflect on this past decade, how much has changed. How I’ve changed.

I started taking photos when I was pretty young, my dad worked at a camera store so he would always bring me home a disposable camera to play around with. In my teens, I planned to do photography full time but honestly, life and my own lack of motivation got in the way. Until around 2011, most of my portraits were done of my friends when we were all hanging out.

Thanks to some much needed encouragement from my then boyfriend (now husband) , I began reaching out to people to do creative photoshoots. I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to photograph, there was so much out there that inspired me! But shoot after shoot, I learned, and I grew. It’s been a hugely rewarding experience, and I’ve learned so much. I’ve been honing my craft, trying to listen to what my heart really wants to be working on, and I 100% can see the evolution of my photography.
I wanted to share with you that journey, to show you all that time, hard work, passion and WORK can get you far.

Thank you xx
